Patterns
What are pattern seeds?
Pattern seeds determine visual placement and can create premiums for fades, case hardened finishes, and some knives.

A pattern seed is the number used to place a finish on a weapon model. Most skins have modest pattern differences, but a few families can have extreme premiums.
Important examples
Case Hardened blue patterns, Fade percentages, Doppler phases, and Marble Fade fire-and-ice classifications are common examples.
Caution
Pattern premiums require specialized comparable sales. Treat broad fair-value estimates as a starting point, not a final appraisal.
